LIMS1 with RBS
A codon-optimized version of Edinburgh 2007's BBa_I742111. Originally from Citrus limon, limonene synthase can be used to create the molecule limonene. Limonene is a 10-carbon monoterpene found in the oils of citrus fruits. It is used as a cleaning agent, solvent, and food additive, and recent research has shown it has potential anti-cancer applications. Limonene also possesses the chemical properties of an ideal biofuel; its low freezing point, combustibility, and high energy density make it a promising jet fuel replacement.
This part contains the limonene synthase gene (LIMS1) plus a ribosome binding site.
